Explosion-proof certification
2021-02-23
What is explosion proof certification?
Refers to the document used to determine the equipment conforms to the requirements of the standard, the type test and the routine test of the adaptation. Certificates can be for Ex equipment or Ex components. All products that meet the scope of the explosion-proof certificate must apply for the explosion-proof certificate.
2. Types of explosion-proof certificates
Explosion-proof certificates include flameproof type (d), increased safety type (e), intrinsically safe type (i), positive pressure type (p), n type (n), oil-filled type (o), sand-filled type (q) Explosion-proof certificate such as casting type (m)
1. Guidelines for Explosion-Proof Certification
1. What is explosion-proof certification?
Refers to the document used to determine the equipment conforms to the requirements of the standard, the type test and the routine test of the adaptation. Certificates can be for Ex equipment or Ex components. All products that meet the scope of the explosion-proof certificate must apply for the explosion-proof certificate.

2. The process of applying for explosion-proof certificate
1. First make product evaluation and preliminary quotation for the products to be explosion-proof certificate
The enterprise provides product specification, electrical schematic diagram and component list for product evaluation, evaluates which type of explosion-proof certificate is suitable for the product and makes a preliminary quotation
2. Provide samples for testing. The number of samples required for different product categories is different.
3. Provide a list of documents for review
Remarks: To apply for a domestic explosion-proof certificate, you only need to submit the data for review, and to apply for an international certification, you need to submit the data to a foreign certification agency for review.
(1) Enterprise qualification certificate
A copy of the business license (when submitting for inspection for the first time), a power of attorney or an application letter.
(2) Enterprise quality assurance certificate (if any)
According to the provisions of GB3836.1-2000, the enterprise should provide the corresponding quality assurance letter when submitting it for review. When an enterprise has passed the ISO9000 series certification, a copy of the ISO9000 series certification can be provided.
(3) Technical data
The technical materials submitted by the enterprise for review include enterprise standards or technical requirements, product drawings, and instruction manuals.
A. Enterprise standards/technical requirements
The enterprise standard/technical requirements of the product should be written in the prescribed format. In addition to the performance requirements of the product, the content should also include explosion-proof related content: such as basic parameters, explosion-proof signs, use environmental conditions, explosion-proof performance requirements, explosion-proof Tests related to performance, signs related to explosion protection, etc.
B. Product drawings
When an enterprise applies for the explosion-proof certificate of intrinsically safe electrical equipment, it should provide the general assembly diagram, circuit schematic diagram, printed circuit board diagram, silk screen diagram, component material table and nameplate diagram. When an enterprise applies for the explosion-proof certificate of non-intrinsically safe electrical equipment, the technical data submitted for inspection should include drawings (including general assembly drawings and parts drawings) that can reflect the explosion-proof performance of the samples. When the general drawing can clearly indicate the explosion-proof parameters and structure of the product, only the general drawing can be submitted for inspection.
C. Instructions for use
The instruction manual should include basic parameters, explosion-proof marks, product outline drawings, installation, maintenance, ordering instructions, and the precautions to ensure the explosion-proof performance of the product during installation and use.
D. other information
For products with adhesive and encapsulation, the model name, performance description and related process documents of the corresponding adhesive and encapsulant should be provided. For products with plastic shell, the material of plastic and corresponding performance documents should be provided
3. Class, class and group of explosion-proof electrical equipment
According to the applicable environment of the equipment, it is divided into three categories:
Class I, mine use
Class II, factory use
Class III, explosive dust
Class II equipment classification and grouping:
Grading: divided into three levels: A, B, and C
Grouping: divided into six groups T1~T6
Equipment Temperature Group (T) and Explosive Gas Temperature
Different groups refer to the highest surface temperature of the equipment, its
Confirmation is related to the type of explosion protection.
4. Period of applying for explosion-proof certificate
The application period for the explosion-proof certificate depends on the specific product. If the information provided by the enterprise is complete, the test period for applying for the intrinsically safe explosion-proof certificate is 2-3 weeks. The testing period is 4-6 weeks.
5. The cost of applying for the explosion-proof certificate
The fee includes test fee, certificate fee, etc. If applying for an international explosion-proof certificate, the factory inspection fee and travel fee should also be included.
